Formed in 2013, the band features Matt Decker on vocals, Joseph Lopez and Stephen Ryan on guitars, Jesse Jones on bass, and Brandon Graham on drums. Known for their electrifying performances, unique blend of heavy riffs and thought-provoking lyrics, Ginko Balboa are unbound by static tempo and timing.

Their history is wrought with comedy and tragedy, from hilarious content that gives the audience a portal to each member's unique personality to the tragic murder of a former member, a story that broke nationwide. Despite the highs and lows, Ginko Balboa continues to push themselves into new sonic territories with each new release!

In 2013 Matt Decker, formally the singer from Cethkyn, Jesse Jones, Mike Dusek and Brandon Graham formally from the band Machine Gun Funk joined forces to create Ginko Balboa. Mark Sturgis later rounded out the line-up on lead guitar contributing to their first single Walking on Eggshells and playing Ginko's first live performance. Mark would part ways with the band and in 2015 Joseph Lopez from the Doom Brothers took over the lead guitar slot. Mark would suddenly and tragically lose his life in 2017 leaving the band stunned and in disbelief. 

Their debut album Walking on Egg Shells was released in 2017 and Ginko was back in the studio in 2021 with their sophomore effort, Hot off the Presses. Mike then parted ways with the band and Jesse took over duties on bass guitar as the band welcomed Stephen Ryan, formally of Almost Winter, as the rhythm guitarist. 2023 saw the release of the single Anything Goes. So far 2024 has seen the singles Stand For Something (featuring vocalist, Jeremy Hyson, formally the singer of Unsaid, Nu Era and Stark) and Why so Mad?.
